Default Calling Targets

I've noticed "Calling Targets" acting a little iffy as of late. Not sure if other people have been experiencing this, so I figured I'd post about it..

I'm not sure if people just don't know what to press when they are the target caller, but sometimes, I will see the text "I am attacking ____." or "I am targeting ____." but pressing "T" does nothing, and the little target button in the party window never shows up by the caller's name. -_-;;

Other times, we'll have a good target caller, but the auto assisting drops for some reason, even though we're still fighting the same target. Things can get messy in PvP occasionally, with other people trying to save the healer, save themselves, whatever is going on - but the auto assist should stay there so they can switch right back, and it should only drop when the target is dead.

And very rarely, calling a target will glitch and it will call a team member, even though the target is clearly on an enemy.

------

Anyway, just a few things I was getting irritated with about auto assist lately. Anyone know if you can set a single button to calling, rather than CTRL+ATTACK? I also really miss having the text, "Press T to select target." because some people just don't pay attention and I think having the "Press T" to remind them a little bit.

I can't seem to get the "press 'T' to target" thing to work anymore either, but the target button at the group list always works for me.

I click the actual bubble that appears next to the caller's name, simply because all of my casting, switching, and moving keys are in the wasd vacinity and in order for me to target i have to stop for a split second and reach over, and usually thats when somebody decides to lose 90% of their health in 1 hit

I tend to call target quite a bit when playing with friends, but when someone else calls a target, if I hit T nothing happens, and if I click on the bubble thinger nothing happens. Is my call target broke? D:

I'm not sure exactly, but the other day when me and my boyfriend were farming, I was trying to call a target and it wouldn't do anything... made me fiery hot with anger! :P

One of my biggest beefs is people who say, "ok, I am going to call targets. Just hit T". They call the first target. The first target dies. I stand there waiting for them to call the next target. And they don't! If you are going to call targets, call the darn targets!

I thought i would ask here first.. since this is on the subject of calling..

Has anyone found a way to set a single key to call Targets ??

Im sure i can set a key on my mouse to do this(multiple key action), or even someone with a Zboard or that gamers half mouse half keyboard thingy.

so if the people with tech equipment can do it.. people without should be able to set a "quick call" key.

Perhaps another "anti-bot" choice to make it more difficult to program a bot? Pure speculation on my part, but it would make about as much sense and some of the other stuff going on.

Funny. My problem is pressing CTRL+Space doesn't always call the target. I have to hit it like 4 times just to call it once.

That and monk professions that don't bring rezes in missions are what annoy me the most about some players.

My Friend is the Target Caller. He always scolds me if I do not attack his target. I am the tank...he is the caster. But lately He has forgoten to call ALL the targets. It has been a little hairy lately in the missions/quests. I tell him over the mic..."er..stoopid Warrior here needs direction in Life..." He knows I cant stand to NOT do anything. But I have noticed that now and again the T key doesn't always work. So I just go at the Healer/Magic bad guy and hope that was his target. It usually is.

Then, you decide to help them out, after they let thre group start individual wars, and call the next target. So, they double your target. You think they are back on track, and guess what, the next target dies, and nothing.

I may have really insulted someone one day when I told them they were fired as target caller, but hey? it is not that hard.

Lots of people know that Control + Space/Click will call a target. But you'd be amazed at the masses of people that don't know that pressing T afterwards actually targets the called target.

They REALLY should add the "Press T to select My target" afterphrase again.

Was just thinking about this while reading another thread relating to something completely different.

It was to do with Henchies and target calling.

All well and good that it works while you are alive, but if in the midst of a bunch of mobs that spring on you and you die and the henchies carry on, they seem to lose there way quite a bit, and end up splitting up even more and trying to take out there own mobs, and not team up and work on the mobs that really need to be taken out first.

For example. We all know the Monks and Protectors of some mobs are quite powerful when it comes to healing, but the Henchies keep on trying to kill of the warriors or hunters while the Healers heal a way, and we just sit there waiting to be ressed by the Monk.

What I propose is the ability that we are able to call the targets for the Henchies even though we are lying on the floor. We can still guide real players while we are dead, so why not the same with henchies.

This would help greatly in killing the mobs in the best order possible, as clearly, although the AI on these Henchies is very good, it's not by any means perfect.

It would enable the rez'ing of our player a lot more quickly and hopefully reduce the amount of DP we end up with while trying to do some quests due to iffy AI.

Anyway, just a thought.

Theoretically, you can call targets while you're dead. At least you can go through the motions. In my case, the henches never pay attention.

Yep, I know that. Sorry, should have made it more clear.

Make it so the Henchies actually respond to what you are calling so hopefully they will survive and don't end up dying because of iffy AI.
